| Crate and potty pad training together? Hi just about to add a new member to our family but I have some questions! I plan to crate train my new yorkie when we get him and keep him in a puppy playpen when he's not supervised to help minimise accidents! I have 3full months off work which is great as I can dedicate all my time to training him. I want him to go potty outside most of the time but eventually I'll have to leave him home alone for a few hours when I go back to work so I was thinking I could have potty pads inside the playpen while I'm away. I would lift the potty pads in the evening when I get home and take him outside for any other potty trips. Will 2 methods of training be too confusing for him? Thanks for any help:-) |

| Hello and Welcome to YT! Congrats on your new baby to be!! No, those methods wont confuse him. I did that when Peanut was a puppy, when I was gone at work he would have a pee pad in his crate, when I got him I pulled it and made him go outside. He will be trained in no time. It is great you will be home- it will make training that much easier!!
