Please help i have a 2 month year old yorkie and i have did everything to trian him but it doesnt work at all i have used puppy pads but the only thing he does on those is pee when i put him the cage for bedtime he would cry alll night i cant even sleep in my own room at night time then in thr morning time you dont smell nothing but poop eww i hate that smell im at the edge of giving this dog away i need help fast oh and he doesnt get his shots till next month so i have been scared to take him outside but now i dont care what i do i would do anything right about now just to get him potty trained and he knows right from wrong just please hellp me!!!!!!

Your puppy is very young and his training will take time, consistency, and patience. It is quite the accomplishment that your puppy is already learning to pee on pee pads. You should schedule a potty time & stick with how often you take your puppy out. He should be taken to go pee every couple of hours. Try and keep track of when he goes #2 and try to get him to the area you want him to potty at during this time. Praise him immensely when he does do things right and reward him. He has a very tiny bladder at this time, and doesn't quite understand where you want him to go potty yet. Everything will take time, but can be accomplished. You might have to start waking up in the early morning to let him out to potty in the appropriate area. Even though your puppy doesn't have shots, if you designate a spot in your yard for your puppy to go potty and don't let him explore anywhere else he should be fine (just make sure no other dogs go there) or you can continue to use the potty pads. As for crying at night, try making an x-pen in your room are sleeping with his crate near you?? Maybe start letting him sleep in your bed?? His crying will get better with time.

Owning a puppy is a lot of work. It requires much time and patience. Puppies, like any other babies, have to learn how to do everything and have repetition to remember what it is you want them to do.

I hope that you can find a way to deal with everything through your frustration. I know puppies can be a handful. I do sympathize with you, but please understand that your puppy doesn't actually know right from wrong at this age. It is up to you to teach them everything that you want them to know. Your puppy is bound to make plenty of mistakes throughout the first year of life. It is a learning experience for both of you, really

Patience, Repetition (Positive Reinforcement), Time, and Consistency are KEY when training a puppy.

Your puppy is too young to begin with. He should still be with his mom. So he needs to mature a bit more. However, you can still work with him and begin training him and yourself.

The whining will stop if you ignore it. Not right away, but overtime. You have to be consistent and not take him out when he does that.

A far as pooping in the AM. Get up and clean it so its not sitting there until you decide to wake up. It's good practice because when he gets all his shots you'll be taking him outside.

You can take him outside without all his shots if you take him where you know no sick dogs have been. Like your yard (if you have one). It takes time and above all PATIENCE.

At two months old, pup shouldn't even be away from mom yet. If you did your research before getting a yorkie, you should know that potty training can take up to a year and you must be consistant, every single day. You must stay on them, take him out or to the pad at least every 2 hours, be alert for signs of needing to potty. Feed regular mealtimes so potty times become regular. I don't know how long you have had this pup, but if you are serious about owning a yorkie, you are going to have to buckle down and get to work and remain patient. You cannot yell at or punish the dog for accidents. Reward good behavior. If pup is only 8 weeks old and you can already not handle it, consider returning pup to the breeder asap so it can be rehomed with someone willing to take the time to train it properly. Your pup is only 8 weeks old & is just like a baby.....it takes a lot of time and even more patience. YOU have to be willing to work with your pup...watch for signals that a pee is pending or for pacing pending a poop. Some pups are easier than others just as some skin babies are easier than others. Being a mom means some looonng days and nites, fur baby or skin baby, Yes, there will be days that it seems like all you do is clean up after them and constantly hear the word 'NO' come out of your mouth.....and yes, you may have to get up several times in the middle of the night to work on the potty training....its a baby!! It does get better but you have to understand that it won't happen over night. There are alot of good tips on here and you need to see what works for you & your pup. Good Luck!

Please read a few books and become a bit more knowledgeable about dogs so you won't have unrealistic expectations. It will teach you what a wonderful and complex creature they are - smart, loving, loyal and fun. But at 8 weeks, you have what is the equivalent to an infant dog who should still be with his mother and littermates, not being expected to ace housebreaking. What is the routine of your day to day? Please give more info. Don't spaz out yet...give it some time and let us try and help you...if it gets real bad I will be happy to take him for you

What i do day to day with him is i wake up around 6 because i have to be at school by 7 then i would take him out the crate feed him and let him run around untill its time for me to leave so i would put him back in the crate untill i get out of school which is 3:45 i come home i do my work n get settled in then i would go take him out the crate and i notcie he would have pee in the cage so i have to take him a bath and clean the cage out i been going through this process for a long time and another question his crate is big i was wondering if that was another problem with him using the bathroom in his crate

I wouldn't expect an 8 week old puppy to hold it for 9 hours. It's not gonna happen. He's small ...his bladder is small.

If you can't be home to take him out or find someone which can...I'd really suggest using an x pen with a pad vs a crate. He will readily use it.

I'm no expert but I have had 100% success with the four of my Yorkies using the methods on my web site. You are more than welcome to read over them, try them and hopefully you will have as much success as I did.
