| What age did your baby stop having "accidents" Hi everyone. I was just wondering the general consensus on when your little "boys" were completely potty trained? Some days it feels like we take one step forward and 2 backwards. Wallee is 9.5 months old and some days are perfect and other days it seems we have 2 or 3 oops. Should he be totally reliable yet? I have am a currently at home as I got laid off and have been working very hard at getting him totally potty trained. He gets one or 2 walks a day and he is only allowed in the front of the house so he can't wander out of my sight. Some days even after just coming in from going pee he will be playing fetch with his ball and just stop and start to pee before my eyes. I will tell him NO and he will stop and run outside with me. My husband (who is ok with him but didn't want a dog) is starting to get on my case saying I am not trying hard enough to train him |

my sweet wonderful Oscar who is the love of my life was horrid at potty training.. i started out with potty pads but he just peed all over the house anywhere he wanted till he was about 6 months then i decided to crack down. i got one of plastic ex pens and sectioned off half my living room . i also decided to try the rascal dog litterbox with the grate instead of using pads, which he obviously disregarded.. within 1 week he was using the box and after about a month he was using it 100% . now at 1 year 4 months he is accident free . although he is a WALKING POOPER so he starts in his box but occasionally drops one in front of it.. | |

| Joel was accident free at 9ish definetly 10 months. Well the other day he was barking at me and I thought he was pestering me like always so I said no and he went behind the bed and pood, I felt bad because he was trying to tell me, lol Maybe go back to square one with a playpen and something under it like linolium for when he has an accident, and take him potty every half hour or hour so he can catch on better Last edited by ilovejoel; 01-14-2013 at 09:22 AM. |

| Blazer is 7 1/2 months old and up until last night he hadn't had an 'accident' in two months. Last night I was putting my daughters to bed then went to let the dogs out (god forbid the husband got off of his butt to do it!) and discovered a little puddle by the door. I fully blame DH, he clearly wasn't paying any attention.

| Wow. You are lucky with Blazer. I hear you about DH. Since mine prefers the 4 cats in this house, he refuses to help with the training at all. Since I am currently unemployed, he expects me to do more around here and since it was me who wanted the dog, it's also my responsibility to train him. But DH sure lets me know when Wallee has an accident. |

| I got Tibbe at 9 mos. and I think - think I remember he was about 21 months or so before he stopped having accidents except once or twice a year and then at about 3 years, none. Except if he's sick, which aren't accidents but necessity if you aren't around quickly enough to let them outside ASAP.

| My female oly has accidents when she gets a UTI. She has on-purposes daily. She is eleven (years not months). It is partially my fault for lackof consistency, but she knows where to go and suddenly is more interested in doing so when there are good girl treats in the equation. Playtime peeing may be from excitement and not his fault. How about a belly band just for playtime?

| I'm with you there. I know Franklin and Maggie can hold it for 8+ hours (they have refused to go outside in the snow before), but I swear...when Franklin gets upset, he will purposefully walk over to the wall, stare at me, and hike his leg. We occasionally have accidents that are my fault, but I would say they were "potty-trained" by about a year.
