| Need advice My little Yorkie male is 10 months old and has been pee pad trained for about 6 weeks. He has always gone to his pad to pee and poop. We were at our beach condo for a week and he used the pee pads there. We are now back home and he is peeping and pooping on the carpets. What is going on???? Please help. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Sounds to me he want to go back to the beach! Seriously, I have no idea, do you have him fixed, sometimes they will "mark" if they aren't fixed, but I don't know why he's pooping on the carpets. Were there no carpets at the beach condo? Maybe he thinks the whole carpet is his pee pad?

| Regression, territorial marking, could be any number of things. Get back to a routine of potty training and fast. Use white vinegar to clean carpets and floors to remove potty spot scent right away.

| Yes he has been neutered. He has never marked. Yes the condo has carpet. We have hardwood and carpet in our home. Very strange as he has been doing great for the last 6 weeks! This is the third time since we have had him that we have gone to the beach, however, this is the first time that we have returned home and he is now peeing on carpet and pooping. HELP. |

| What about Nature's Miracle? That is what I have always used. Thanks for your quick reply. |

YT 2000 Club Member | I wonder if the dog lmind gets confused with pee pads and carpet. My Yorkies were trained on pee pads. We have tile on our floor. Now they will pee on any rugs I put down or on their blanket once in awhile. I get upset when they do that. They have a doggie dog to the yard but once in awhile they will go on the rug. So frustrating. What goes on in that dog mind. I really think JoJo gets mad when I leave him and he just pees out of spite. |

To the OP, you might have to go back to crate training for a short time.

| I've bever heard of natures mirale but if others can reccomend it great. I prefer white vinegar because its safe for pets enviroment and allthe fabrics plus it works and you can get a ton of it at costoc

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Natures Miracle really works great, I've tried vinegar, and it is good on wood and tile, but for carpet and materials, you need something that will totally get rid of the protein in urine. The enzymes in Nature’s Miracle which are bacteria "eat" the protein in urine. The only bad thing is it's slow, you can't hurry the process.

We have a white cream carpet do you know if it's safe not to stain? Our dogs are fully trained...but Elvis looses bladder when having a seizure from time to time and ever since Princess' spay first thing getting up she leaks a bit sometimes.

| Thanks for the advice. It just seems strange that he has used pee pads and also will go outside without any accidents since he was 7 months old. Well, I guess we are back to crate training to see if we get back on track. |

So sorry about Elvis, I wonder if Princess is okay, or if the surgeon made a mistake? Oh nevermind, I just read that it can be caused by "decreases in the the production of estrogen".

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Is there any chance he could have gotten a bladder infection, people are always saying rule out medical problems first if there is a change in behavior.
