| anyones yorkie do this? Hello, my name is michaela and i am new to this forum, actually any forum so forgive me if i do something wrong! i came across this site and couldnt stop looking at everyones adorable yorkies. i have a three year old female yorkie named mia (on her certificate it says Michaela's little Princess Mia..) As well as two golden retrievers. As you might guess the yorkie is the dominate one, and keeps the others in line!! she barks at any noise she hears, and the few times she has had accidents in the house, when you try to repromand her she talks back, and gets very upset! When i say hello to my other dogs or pay attention to them mia will run and throw her front paws anythign to get attention. she has thrown fans over, opened doors, gotten thigns out of cabinents, ect. She is by no means a bad dog, just spoiled... I want her to learn tricks and be well mannered, but is it hopeless? i try to ignore her when she throws her little tantrums but then she just goes and does it more. she has never been aggressive towards anyone, but barks for about 10 min until she gets used to a new person. She is very affectionate to those she knows, and very sweet and loving. Is this a common yorkie personality? ..sorry for rambling! |

| Hello and welcome to YT! My two act almost the same way. If I'm showing attention to Gabby, Gage will jump on her to try to get to me, try to push her out of the way, something to get me to show him some attention. If I'm showing Gage the attention, Gabby will come up, bump my hand, bump my leg, nudge him out of the way, whatever it takes to get me to pay attention to her. It really is very sweet and cute how they both want the attention and neither wants to share "mommy" |

| Chachi sometimes has tantrums. Both my dogs bark at people untill they get used to them. We are getting them the citeronella bark collars and putting them in a class at Petsmart to hopefully solve this problem.

| Maybe you need to get her to socialize more. I know yorkies tend to bark at lot when there is little noise. I think barking at someone for 10 minutes it's a pretty long time. Im sure your very annoyed. I think maybe if you take her to Petsmart training classes it may help socialize with other dogs and people. You will need to be persistant. |
