| potty training 2 'young' pups ill just start off saying this is my first thread, glad to have found this discussion forum some what recently i had my tiny chorkie pass away it was absolutely devastating and out of the blue i also have another chorkie, penny, she is about 7 months...still not potty trained i had a genius idea to run and get another pup, scruffy he is also about 7 months (17 days younger then penny to be exact)... the lady i got him from said he was potty trained but he isnt... she said hed use the doggy door...well i dont have one of those, nor do i have a fenced yard to just let them run out to go potty.. ive got them on a schedule but they do spend a lot of time in their crates i have a kennel coming, for outside coming tomorrow it is not very big but itd be better than having to walk them on a leash all the time and/or letting them be in an xpen outside to potty... i have a couple questions, i was contemplating putting the kennel on the porch outside, we have a door that goes right on the porch...then maybe they wouldnt get so dirt, i bathe them all the time it seems like..it might kind of ruin the porch where it is but out where id put the kennel where it is easily accesible is super dirty and they get covered in dirt... and possibly attempting the potty pad things...but i tried the disposable ones those just get demolished..then i was reasing something about the hospital waterproof washable ones...never thought of that before... (im not sure how many id need??) but i dont know if they would be confused about using potty pads inside and using the kennel outside... and my dogs arent tiny scruffy is 8 pounds and penny is 7 pounds (she has a flooding bladder) sorry this is so long hopefully someone takes the itme to help me out im feeling very discouraged and im not sure the best way to go about this... another thing on top of my 2 fur babies i have a 3 yr old who just started head start, and a crawling 9 month old and im ususally by myself... id like to get this potty training dont right and under control HELP!!! |
