| Yet another potty training thread... Hi Everyone, In need of some advice on what to do. We recently got a puppy who is now 11 weeks old. We have been fairly successful on training little Oliver to go potty outside, and would like to keep him going outside as opposed to potty pads. But up here in Minnesota it's been cold and windy and bound to get worse and Oliver does NOT go outside when its chilly and windy. We live in an apartment on the first floor and have a covered patio. Has anyone who had an outdoor trained puppy have success with using potty pads on the patio to keep them out of foul weather without making them only a potty pad dog? I'm thinking it shouldn't be a huge issue and will be convenient for both us and Oliver once the really Minnesota winter hits but I don't want him to be dependent on potty pads. Any advice or experiences would be appreciated, thanks! |

| Ziva (3yo) goes outside into a fenced side yard with the other two dogs. But if is dark or raining she potties on a tray with newspaper in the garage (on the way to the side yard) I can see she feels more "comfortable" on the tray with the feel of newspaper under her feet, but she will go on grass or patio block. |
