YorkieTalk Newbie! | Help needed! Huuh...We feel like i we failed in training our two little sweeties. So here's our story, We have 2 lovely yorkies: one is 4 and other 10 months old. Week ago we game from our vocation. We were just driving around the Europe for one and half weeks, and offcourse we took our sweeties with us. Everything went just fine. But now when they have to be alone at home again on the day time- when we are at work they're just acting crazy. When we came home from work, our apartament looked such a mess...It looks like there had been snowing..because these two little devils had played (and eaten and chewing and who knows what...) with the pee mat around the whole apartament. The pee mat is in toilet and they are useing it very well. They never play with it when we are at home... Normally we don't use the frame for the mat..but after the first "suprise" i saw no other joice- i thaught because of the frame they cant chew it.---But still...they caught it...So today was the third day! How can we teach them, not to do that? How can we punish them when we can't see them playing with it?! What should we do??? Please smb give us a advice. Thank you!!! |

| Have you thought of crating or using an x-pen and getting fabric wee pads instead of the disposable?

| I think maybe the fabric potty pads might be a better choice for your two? They won't be able to rip them up and I've heard a lot of rave reviews about them.

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Yeah...their the crazy ones! I think we would laugh as hard as we can with my husband when it happens like- once a year. But not that often. I'm looseing my mind here... We have thaught about buying an x-pen but theyre young puppies and so lovely furballs that we didnt had a heart to put them in the "prison" -what a dumm... *** But know i really think theres no other options...Theire totally taking over our lives.. It's kinda fusturating to come home after a hard workday and then start to clean our place here. I have never heard about those fabric pads before..havent seen those here, in Finland, but im gonna find out what they are- thats for sure! Thank You very much!!! M, S and crazy ones |

My furkids Donating Member | I couldn't use the paper pee pads when they were pups...they would shred them! I started using reusable pads...very convenient...just throw them in the wash with a little bleach! I have 8 of them so I never run out!

| awwww! They were just bored and did something to fill the time. Believe me, there are many things a lot worse that they probably could have done. I personally would get the washable pee pads for a bit. They don't tear those up like they seem to enjoy the paper ones. I would try to tire them out a bit by taking a walk or going outside to play before you leave and hopefully they will be a little less inclined to get into mischief! |

| I am making my own! I found a garage sale and the lady was selling 10 yards of waterproof fabric for $3. I will sew an absorbent top onto squares of it and voila! I will have cheap and washable pee pads. I just hope Kipper will use them as well as he does the disposable kind! |

| They really had fun! i'd do the cloth wee pad and make them a smaller area to be in while you're away from them.

Today we came a bit earlier than we did before..and ohoh what a surprise- Just a little corner was eated) (Y) Am..my husband thaught that it's not a solution if we change the wee pads- we have to find out why they do that..---he's reading a Cesar Milan book right now So right now we're just trying to figure out whats wrong. But we both found that the x-pen is really needed, as some of said that they have too big playground. )) So thank You all)) Have a nice weekend! |
