| Need help!!!!!!!!! my 10 month old yorkie don't want to listen to anything. she still bitting but the few thing she does right is going on the puppy pad and sit and lay down. she might take her pop out and put it some where else or eat it if I don't get to it before she does. but she don't understand the word no. we have had classes and we took the same class over but that didn't help. we took the classes at petsmart. but some people think that she help them with there dog. but not with mine. and I have been trying to find trainning classes or a trainer around my area Southern Illinois but can never find them. just for petsmart or petco but with petco it is an hour away. and what other places I do find are up North like 5 hours or more away from me and that something that I can't do. so I just don't know what to do. I know I have post other things on here about her bitting or not listening and other things on here. we just wish that we could find a trainer that could get her to do what we would like her to do. and too she getting close to bening a year and we don't want all this to keep going for the rest of her life either. it just seem like she getting more mean as the day go by just so tired of all this. really need the help with her. |

| She is still a puppy at 10 months, I think if she uses her pads, knows sit and lay down commands..she's doing pretty darn good comparatively speaking. What kind of stuff are you wanting her to listen too? Is she like bitting, chewing or like doing normal puppy things? Maybe others can help, I'm not good at training..so bumping this for you. Oh, I just read your post again....mean, like agressive??

Donating YT 10K Club Member | You need to re-enforce training at home. For the command come...this means EVERY you say it and she complies...she gets rewarded with a treat.every time. The word come means a reward. Period. Carry them in your pocket always. Biting you hard...you yelp LOUDLY and then ignore her. You could always substitute a toy for yourself here too. Give her appropriate things to chew...bully sticks, cow hooves, raw beef bones. Provide things she prefers over inappropriate things and supervise her. I have never had one eat feces...but understand feeding pineapple eliminates the desire.

| we do re-enforce the training at home but it don't work and we do give her treats. I do say that hurt lound that don't do anything all it does really do is make her go after my feet even more and harder sometime. and I have tryed to ignore her and that don't work all the time either or she just go hard to get me to say something to her. and we have toys that she can chew on and toys where she has to work at getting the treats out. but that don't work. we have use pineapples but I am not to sure if she didn't have that much in her or she didn't care and still did want use does lot of time with it. and I know she has throw some things up and I think a little bit of it come up one time. but not to sure thats been a while too. |

| Devote 5 to 10 (no more, make it fun) minutes a day, two to three times a day to specific training and you will see results. I suggest using one specific place in your house, a favorite training treat (we love Charlie Bears here), and a clicker. I can't speak highly enough about how effective clicker training is, as long as you do it the way it is intended. This website has a nice little dvd, and flash cards/ book that come with a clicker, try it you won't be dissapointed. Karen Pryor Clickertraining | The Leader in Positive Reinforcement Training

When you tried the clicker, were you using it the way it is explained with the clicker method? Click and treat? The timing is very important when using the clicker, as it associates the act (command) with the treat (reward)

♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | Consistence if you have taught her to sit and to use her pads. She can learn. Every time she bites you give her a toy that she can bite. And play with her with the toy. When she bites you say ouch and give her the toy back. She has learned biting gets her attention good or bad. ( she is smarter then you think). And as for chewing things she shouldn't at this point you need to keep things away from her that gets her in trouble for chewing on. If it is in her reach it fair goods. She will get you trained sooner or later. Training any dog takes lots of time and positive rewards.

| Do you take your dog out for walks at least twice a day? A puppy needs a lot of exercise. Your dog sounds like she is bored. Take her out for long brisk walks at least twice a day. It will help to wear off some of the extra energy that she has. PetSmart and PetCo do not use professional trainers. You need to learn from someone who has actually trained a dog for obedience trials. You also need to practice the training several times a day everyday. I am putting a link to a website that has some good training videos that will give you an idea of how to train a dog. There are videos and articles on every sort of issue you can have with a dog. It is a very helpful site. I would still advise you to work one on one with a professional trainer though. Please study the videos and articles on this site. DSD Training Videos | Dog Star Daily |
