| How to Housebreak Older Yorkie We have an 8 year old Yorkie and she is still not housebroken. We have puppy pads in the laundry room that she sometimes uses when she is left alone, but not consistently. She likes to pee on the carpet. We take her outside morning and night and many times during the day when we are home and she understands the words, "go potty", but she still pees on the carpet when she is left alone. We just put in all new carpet, it's been 2 weeks and tonight I found pee on the carpet. Help. Otherwise she is the sweetest girl in the world, our Cookie. Thanks in advance for any responses. |

| I feel for you and your predicament, maybe she needs to be caged when you are not home, she wont like it but better than ruining your new carpet

| instead of giving her free run of the house when you are not home leave her in the kitchen with a gate to the doorway. is she does not like the potty pads maybe try a litterbox . my oscar did not care for potty pads and prefered carpet as well so i bought this box and he now uses it 100%. have you only had her for two weeks? if so , it is going to be a big adjustment for her so it may take her awhile .. check out the litterbox, i ordered the big squirt no grass.. http://www.rascaldoglitterbox.com/ Last edited by MY OSCAR; 04-24-2012 at 03:20 AM. |
