YorkieTalk Newbie! | Leash Training My 4 month old puppy will start puppy obedience class this evening. It's asked that we bring a 6' leash to the training. Are 6' leashes ok for yorkie puppies? My Kharlie is 3.6 lbs. BTW- I sent an email to the director of the program, just waiting on a response. In the meantime, I figured I post the question here to see if I could get a quick answer. Thanks. |

| I think the 6 foot leash would be fine but make sure your puppy wears a harness and not a collar. You do not want him pulling too hard and hurting his trachea... |

| Try a cat or ferret harness if the dog harnesses aren't big enough. I took my Mickey to class and we needed a 6ft lead too and it really wasn't as long as I thought it would be. |

| For training, I really like the easy walk harness. It protects their trachea but still clips in the front. The harnesses that clip in the back encourage pulling - think sled dog. Easy Walk Harness Product Description - Premier Pet My Beemer is 3 1/2 pounds and wears a petite. Actually so does Sadie and she's 4 1/2 pounds. They are quite adjustable. It is important that they are fitted correctly. The front goes across their chest - not around their neck. Easy Walk Harness Sizing Instructions - Premier Pet
