| Yorkie Eats Paper :-P Hello! My Yorkie, Sassy, has gotten into a habit of eating napkins, paper towels, kleenex, etc. She has recently started this. Is she bored or someting? How can I stop this? Thank you (:

| I think it is just something to do, and sometimes it is for attention and to have the human chase after them. The easiest and fastest and most effective cure is to keep everything out of doggy reach. We keep all of our paper products on counters, our trash cans in cabinets, toilet paper behind closed doors.

| My girls don't eat paper, but we make sure there aren't any fallen pencils on the floor... I think they mistake them for chewsticks

All our paper products are now put in cupboards - and all our trash cans have lids. Knowing Harry, he'll learn soon how to push the pedal to open them though... Sally + Harry x

| I think more of our babies do this than not! It is just plain FUN!! If my son leave a paper napkin on his TV tray, I have GiGi who will not only grab the napkin and run around the den with it, she shaks it violently if no one reacts! If you still ignore her, she will run to my feet, shake the napkin, drop it on my foot, bark, grab it up and take off again! They love the chase it creates! |

| Yorkie eats paper Hi there Susan and Fenway here. My dog Fenway runs like lightening to her basket when she's picked up something that's how you know she's up to no good. My worst experience with my dog is in the garden she just loves picking up anything it's old leaves at the moment in the garden she loves to eat them. If you try to get them off her she runs off with them in her mouth. It was berries when we first got her that drooped from the trees. Luckily they weren't poisonous. I've tried spraying with water and distracting her with her toys but it didn't work. She's after the wasps bees and anything else that moves in the garden now. she's just so inquisitive and she's 1 on 16th April. Best wishes Susan and Fenway |

| Kirby is 8 years old and still eats paper. I had her to vet recently because she was sick. He said some dogs just do that. We try to keep trash cans closed and we empty bathroom wastebaskets often. She is our little billy goat. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Joey did this as a puppy, but he stopped around the age of 1 1/2, if your dog is an adult and this is new behavior, you might want to ask the vet about it. I always think that eating strange things might mean something is missing in the diet. What food are you using? If it's a grocery store brand, you might want to consider changing it to a more nutritious brand.

Mya eats at things also. And I notice she only does this when I'm not paying attention to her. O.o So I agree about the attention thing
