For now make sure you clean up with a neutralizer cleaner, there will be good days and bad days, be patient and consistent...

Yesterday you left her alone with no distractions & she did well & today you were home & are a distraction as she want's to be with you. I agree, you need to confine her & take her out often for potty breaks. Last edited by lillymae; 03-11-2012 at 08:06 PM.

trust me , there is nothing wrong with your dog.. I know how you feel. Oscar will sometimes just walk in his litterbox and pee & poo on his own and other times he will just pee on the carpet right in front of me. I have him in a x-pen and i am sitting right there to watch him. Just be patient , this is not something they will learn immediately. Yorkies are very smart , your little girl will catch on .... Just as i am sure oscar will , one day............... | |

it's all a part of being a puppy. one day of pads does not mean they are fully trained. Peppermint will use the pads consistantly for weeks then one day decide that she doesn't want to use them at all and goes everywhere but the pads. there is no rhyme or reason behind it...i have logged everything going on in our days, what she has eatten, walks, etc and there is no pattern. somedays the carpet is just where she wants to go. she is lucky she is the cutest thing on the planet or there would be trouble i stopped stressing over it and bought a steam cleaner. i am going to try one of those fake grass pads at some point to see if that keeps her more consistent. i have successfully trained sooo many dogs to be potty trained and this tiny little 2.5 pound dog is the one that broke me. lol

my entire apartment is carpeted!!! we moved from a house that was completely hard wood so i think that confused her also. the first two weeks in the new place she thought we moved into one giant pee pad

You can't give her that much space. It takes months for a yorkie to be potty trained. I too, think that she is all set and then she will just pee on the kitchen floor. I do not let my dog have the run of the kitchen when I am not home. She is confined to the ex pen. When I am home, she can roam around the kitchen, but I watch her all the time. 99 percent of the time, she will go in the pee pads. I think I am going to add a panel to the ex pen this weekend and see how she does with that. You are supposed to give them more space if they have had one whole month with no accidents, until finally you can give them the run of a room. I really don't know if I would ever trust her to have the house with all the carpeting in it.
