| Pee Pad Troubles Lexie has been trained to use pee pads since the day i got her and was very easy to train. When i got the washable pee pads i put 1 in my room and one in the kitchen. Shes been very consistent about using them but i've ran into a few problems. I want to remove the pee pad from my room and only want her to use the one downstairs, problem is when i remove the one upstairs for a little while just to wash it she will pee on the carpet upstairs instead of going to use the other one. I've tried putting newspapers in the spot where the upstairs one is but she'll still go on the carpet. I need the extra space in my room and think its about time the pee pad comes out, i don't want it there forever lol. So how do i go about getting her to use only the pee pad downstairs(all of downstairs is hardwood) so i can completely remove the pee pad upstairs where theres carpet? Also i let her outside sometimes to potty and she always does, so she's kinda trained with both. |

| Well a couple of suggestions. 1) you could remove the potty pad from your room and keep the door closed or 2) you could put a gate at the bottom of the stairs so she can't go up. If she is used to consistently using the downstairs potty pad she will probably continue to do so. Maybe you could give her and extra one for downstairs so she has a couple options.... |

washable or disposable. i keep him in an x-pen and i bought a new litter box using the grate method instead of a pad. i have to watch him closely because although he will potty in the box he does not go to it on his own. it will be awhile i think. maybe you could try a different method with bella. i think maybe some dogs just don't like the pads.. this is the box i got ( minus the grass) . i got the Big Squirt http://www.rascaldoglitterbox.com/ Last edited by MY OSCAR; 03-07-2012 at 03:11 AM. | |
