| 4 Month Yorkie won't stop crying! please help! I'm new on here and I desperately need help! We've had our male yorkie for nearly two months now and apart from the first night he didn't make one noise during the night! But now for the past couple of nights he cries and cries as soon as we put him to bed, until he eventually sleeps past 1am (which is incredibly annoying for those of us with a 7am start). My mother is threatening to put him up for sale, she doesn't understand that he is just a puppy and its upsetting me so much to think about him leaving us; he's a part of our family after all. Any help on how to stop him crying would be GREATLY appreciated! [Also if it helps, he has started crying on the nights we have gave him his worming treatment] |

♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | well he may be crying then because he needs to potty That medicine could be making him feel like he needs to go. I would take him out more often to see if that helps. Give him some kind of stuffed animal to curl up with (something that has no parts he can chew off and choke on) and sometimes a radio on can help. Is he warm enough? Move him close to your bed so you can say hush and reassure him everything is okay. And of course if that all fails you can put him in bed with you. thats how all mine sleep. But you must have a safe way for him to get on and off your bed so be doesn't jump and hurt himself. good luck

| Thanks for your response! Well we dont have him in a crate, rather he sleeps in his bed (complete with hot water bottle) in the kitchen, where at night he goes potty on newspaper beside the back door! He already has a favourite toy too, and radio has been left on so running out of ideas!! We cant have him in our bedrooms as we sleep upstairs and our stairs are quite steep for him!

| Well i think the main reason he is crying is because he is all alone in a huge kitchen. He is probably terrified. I would get him a plastic crate and put it in your bedroom . Make sure you see if needs to potty a few times before bed.. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | the reason he is crying is because he is alone in the kitchen, when my dog parents take their puppies home at 12 weeks that is the first thing I tell them, you need a crate and the baby has to go in your room, NOT in the kitchen, laundry room or bathroom.. crate him and bring him to your room, and like someone said make sure you bring him potty a few times before putting him to bed and no water while he is in the crate.. hugs, |

♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | I have to agree you need to purchace a crate or maybe a pen that he can be closer to you. These little ones get very attached and I am sure he feels very alone at night. If he uses papers you could put him in your bedroom and shut the door. Just make sure its puppy safe no cords to chew on. Yorkies love being close to their people.

| Miss Brandy was the same way.. I had her sleeping ing the living room because my hubby said we couldn't have her in the bed room.. she cried and cried every night till I sleeped with her their untill she wasn't scared anymore.. someone from petland told me to do it that way.. I also got a mesh pen for her put her closer to my room and covered her with her blanket when she went to bed,.. Now shes ok it just takes time.. make sure your baby uses the bathroom well to and run the little one around for 10min to get nice an sleepy.. works for Brandy good luck

| Wow! I didn't expect such a great response! Thank to you all! We do have a cage for him, just never used it. The one big problem in all of this is that he isn't yet completely housebroken...he just can't seem to grasp it, although he is getting better with time! So if we did bring him into one of the bedrooms then there is the possibility of him going potty in the room or over his bed! We rang the vet today and she said to not give him his last dose of worming medication as he may be having a bad reaction to it...so fingers crossed Riley will be better tonight <3

| Try wearing an old t shirt all day..........then at night when you start to bed put it in his bed. Your scent may help calm him.......worked for my daughter,

| I saw that you said he uses newspaper to potty at night in the kitchen - is he pee pad trained also? If so, you can put him in your room with a pad and close your door. That's what we do with Jack - he is pad trained and trained to go outside, so if he really has to go while we are sleeping, he goes on his pad. Jack has never once peed in our bed either and I believe that is true with a lot of others here. Good luck!

just a warning, mine is pee pee pad trained but he will only use it when it is in its usual spot. so if there is one in my bedroom, he will either run to where the main one is or just use the floor | |
