| First Night in crate I am so proud of Dollar guys. OK here is the short story, ever since we got Dollar he has been sleeping with us at night, but he will bark in the middle of the night to play and we get no sleep then he will also pee in the bed. He will just wake up no bark or anything and he will walk to the end of the bed and pee (Large amount)....so last night was the first night that we put him in his crate. we took him for a walk at about 9:30pm. Then We put a nice fluffy towel and his toys and some water and food in there....and put him in his crate. He cried for about 5 min and then settled down. We woke up first thing in the monring and took him out for a walk and he peed and pooed. I am so proud of him and much more well rested!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | That's great! I had the opposite problem with Cali. She slept in her crate until 2 weeks ago and she would wake up during the night and I would put her in my bed for the rest of the night. She has a wee wee pad in her crate so that wasn't the problem. I think she was lonely. As soon as I put her in my bed she slept throught the night and snuggles up on me every night. I agree you have to do whatever works so that everyone can get some sleep.

| Update ok so he did better the first night then he did last night...but still not too bad. He started to cry thins morning at 5 so we woke up pretty early, but took him out and he pooped and peed.....then we just put him in bed with us and he played for a while and then slept until we did.

| Congrats! I would not put food and water in the crate though...he could choke and you wouldn't know it. Also, water isn't a good idea unless it's hot outside b/c your little guy could drink too much and need to go potty and he might go in the crate. Also, be careful of certain toys and bones!

| Way to go!!! A crate trained dog is welcome just about everywhere! It can be a battle but its one worth winning! You will enjoy years of pleasure as a result! Keep up the good work!

| Good for Dollar, he'll get the hang of it, and eventually they love THEIR own spot! Bailey goes in on his own, when he senses we are leaving, or when he's scared ( Thunder or Fireworks) or when he gets tired of following me around.
