| Making sure about cutting pee pads... I have searched on here and googled the topic, but is it ok to cut the pee pads down to smaller sizes (such as to fit in a crate)? I didnt know if the inner parts of the pads could be toxic. Straszny hasn't eaten or torn up any pee pads so far, but just in case, I thought it was worth asking about. Also, something interesting that I have noticed is that he prefers new pee pads to used ones. I would have thought the opposite, that they would have reminded him "this is YOURS". Surprise after surprise... Last edited by Joysie; 11-29-2005 at 01:51 PM. Reason: spelling |

| I cut mine, to fit crate. Dont know if its harmful or not. Muffin has been chewing on them though. Wouldnt think they would be harmful, unless the makers are dumb enough to think dogs dont chew on everything! MuffinsMom |

| They can't be harmful - my bichon literally ripped every one I ever put down for him into shreds - and then he played with the mess all day - while I was gone. My Yorkie is much nicer (so far!). He has never torn one or thought to play with it. And, he pees on it quite a bit (but not always). Carol Jean |

| I posted the other day about how my girls tear them up all the time and they had not hurt them. Today I have to update my post and say that they continue to shred them to pieces, but this morning Deb got a piece stuck in her throat. She was making this awful noise and I ran to see what the problem was. She had a piece of the pad in her throat. She is fine thankfully, but I just broke down and ordered washable pads that can not be shredded. It could have been bad if I was not at home! I hate to think of what could have happened!
