| Will She Forget Her Training? I'm going to board Bella for a week in December while I go to Hawaii, I've heard that dogs have forgotten their training while they are being boarded and you will need to either start over or "refresh" their memory once they are home. Has anyone had this problem? I really don't want her to forget any of the training, especially the POTTY TRAINING! Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

| If she is a older dog then probably not. If she is a young dog and just learn to be consistant in her potty training then it is hard to tell. She may or may not regress on her potty training after a week of being boarded. You probably won't know until you get her back. I don't know if there is anything you can do. I hope she doesn't. Good luck |

| I just came back from Hawaii I boarded Wosie at my vets and we were gone for 2 weeks. I had the same fear you did, but it was groundless. I actually wrote a long note about what Wosie and I had been working on with training and asked that if they did have the time, if they could continue what she was used to. I don't know if they did or not, but Wosie still remembered everything when we got back! The only slide back we had was I had her paper trained, and it's obvious that they don't use newspaper in their kennels as she has only gone on the papers once since we have been home. Otherwise, it's next to the papers. Dang. But we are working on it! Good luck! Enjoy Hawaii. We went to Kauai the first two weeks of this month and it was incredible!

| I have the same fear! I will be boarding Roxy and TJ (along with my Mom's 2) for 10 days. Then my Mom will take them all out to her place for 5 days and then Roxy and TJ have to back (or somewhere else) for 2-3 days until I can get home. They are wee wee pad in the liter boxed trained now. I have no idea what will happen after the boarding, but I don't think there is anything that I can do! Hopefully only good things will come out of it (I hope??) |

| Thanks so much to everyone for their replies. DomLee, we are going to Hawaii the last week of December. I've had a couple of people who have offered to watch her but I just dont know if they can handle it. These people all have only one dog and I'm worried that watching two might be overwhelming for them. Here are the places I'm thinking about boarding her at: http://www.roverkennels.com/ http://www.theloveddog.com/ I personally know people who have boarded their dogs at these places and have had great experiences at both places. Bella is a little over a year old now and she's trained to go to the bathroom outside, so my fear is that she'll forget that!
