2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Of course she can be..... it wont be easy !! Below is a link to my site and the techniques that I use and have had success with with all of my dogs. If you dont feel that this is the right thing for you, search the forum for something else. There have been many many posts about this subject in the past. | Only if YOU are consistent in your training. It depends on you more than the yorkie. They can be potty-trained before they are a year old if you work really hard at it. Of course, it's easier if you are home with them all of the time.

| Callie was potty trained at 9 or 10 months. I would praise her and give her a treat when she went outside and when I caught her doing it inside I would say "no" never hit or rub her nose in it and now she would not pee in the house even if it were the end of the world.

| Yes, they can be potty trained!! It takes a LOT of hard work and persistence! Carmel is 100% potty trained at almost 1 year old. Emma was potty trained at 1.5 years old, but I don't trust her as much as Carmel...I watch her schedule. Potty training if both us and our babies. They know we will let them go potty so they hold it, but we also watch their schedule so we know when it's time to let them go out. Good luck!!

| Kobi is 8 months and is almost potty trained, but I have a problem with the weather. What if it is raining outside. He does not use a potty pad and always wants to go outside. It is raining her and has been for several days, and I have been going out with him with an umbrella ha ha!! But, I do not know what else to do.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Taycie was potty trained by the time I had her spayed at 6 months. I think the key is being very persistent, with positive reinforcement! I would take Taycie out on the half an hour and always give a treat. As she got older I was able to go on the hour. Now she just tells me when she wants out, either by barking or scratching at the door. Setting a timer always helped me to remember... and If I was doing something I couldn't give my full attention I put her in crate or in her xpen.

| Hi tinkysmommy! I've always had girls, and thought they'd be easier - more 'biddable'. Until Harry! We got him at 3 months and he's only ever had maybe 6 mistakes? The last one was about 4 months ago (he's 10 months old now). He's never used pee-pads - I tried to, but he thought they were his new toy and tried to bring them to me to play! Are you at home all day? You know all the normal trigger times. Apart from those, if Harry did make a mistake and I didn't catch him doing it, I would carry him over to the spot, point at it and say 'aagh' or 'no' or 'naughty boy'. He would look away in embarassment and actually, ever since then, kind of skirt round where the naughtiness had happened! Good luck! Sally + Harry x |

| Are you pad training or outdoor training? ZoE was fully trained & had the run of the house at about 16 weeks old. She's now 9 months old. We've had no accidents in between those times at home or when visiting friends/family. She knows to go on her pads no matter where they are. I've always pad trained my yorkies and found it very easy to do, but it requires putting your life on hold for a few weeks and doing nothing else. I've never outdoor trained a yorkie, so can't speak to that. Infact....I'm not sure ZoE even knows its ok to go outside . Even when we are at an outdoor event/festival, I have to put her pads down to get her to go...lol
