| Well, I'm not sure of the answer to your question, but I'm thinking a possible reason why he does it is that he doesn't like to sit/lay on the bare floor. I keep a couple of old towels on the kitchen floor for Joey and that's where he almost always chooses to lay down. |

| i am having this problem too..i am trying to be consistent..and i know he knows he shouldnt sit or lay there because he hops up when he sees me coming. He is testing me and i dont like it i have him move and go to his bed and he does..then a few hours later he is sitting in the litter box comfy as can be. i even took it out and he sits on the pad...uuugh.
