| Barking - too much? Hi, my adopted Yorkie barks quite a bit. I'm not sure if it's normal or abnormal. He barks when humans and/or dogs walk by in front of our house. That happens many times a day, but it actually seems sort of normal. He also barks like crazy when we have company. At this point, I've had to put him in another room when we have company. He is such a sweet baby. I get bummed that his real personality doesn't show through to visitors. Anyone have links on barking? I've tried to search it but I just get website selling the collars. I'd like to try some sort of behavior modification . Thanks for any tips. |

| I read to teach them to 'bark' on command, then you can reward them for not barking.

| I've been having good luck using a water pistol. When they started barking, I said shhhh & squirted them if they didn't stop barking. Now I just have to say shhhh & they stop. |
