| crate training / potty inside? I have an 11 month old male yorkie who has been fixed. I have him crate trained him, but while in the crate during the day he will sometimes pee and poop in there, and since it's a small crate, lay in it. Usually only in there 3 hours, sometimes up to 8 hours. Not sure why he is doing that? What can I do to stop this behavior?

| Does he go in his crate all the time or only when he is in for longer periods? 8 hours is a long time to expect him to hold it.

| Most of the time he goes in his crate. He will be taken outside before he goes in it, very rarely is he in there for 8 hours, Maybe twice a month. I started just leaving him in the kitchen and put a child gate up, and he will potty on the floor, which is better then having to clean him and the crate.

| I have, but have heard so many horror stories about that, so I have not. Maybe I will try that. Can't be any worse.

| I totally feel for you. My babies are mostly indoor trained and goes out when I let them. The pee pads work great because we can take them anywhere and just put the pads down and they know to go there. I have a problem though, my little guy is 2.5 yo now and I don't know if it is behavioral or other issues but he still eats his kaka when I am not watching like at night when I am sleeping, when we are not home or when I am in the showers etc. He is so bad he used to eat it. Now he would carry it to his crate or his beds... I don't know what else to do other than have to watch him like a hawk and also not feed him as much if we have to leave them for sometime. Any ideas or suggestions??????? |

| Max is 6 months old, I have had him for about a month. He goes outside to do his business and also has a pee pad located in the bathroom. We put it there because that is where he had his 1st accident the day we bought him home. He has not pee-peed anywhere else in the house since we put the pad down. He knows he can go in there if he can't get our attention, or if it's cold and rainy. The problem we have is that if he poops inside, he goes in the floor at the door of the bathroom that the pee pad is in. We take him out for leash walks about 5 times a day. |

| Lilly is 8.5 weeks old, we have had her only four days and she is doing great with the po pads considering her age & time with us. We also put a gate up so she is limited to the kitchen & screened porch. The pee pad should be as close to a door as possible if your wanting your Yorkie to go outside. |
