| Help!!! My daughter has a yorkie that is about 7 months old. She will not stop pooping and peeing in our house!!!! She will pee on the puppy pad sometimes and then poop on the floor right beside it.... Then, we can let her out of her room, with the puppy pads in it and she will poop and pee in two seperate places in our house.. We are so angry with her. She knows that she is doing wrong, because she will crouch down after she does it when she sees us. We are not home with her during the day, so the schedule thing is harder for us.... Please send me some advice!!!! She is a very smart dog but is very stubborn......Thank you. |

| Do you crate train her? Where is she during the day? If your puppy is not getting the pee pad thing . . perhaps consider outdoor training. There is a big distinction between inside and outside and grass vs. carpet.

| In addition to Ringo's questions... How long have you had her? Is she in an ex-pen? (if you are not crate training) Are you yelling at her when she makes a mistake? (could explain the crouching) Do you have a schedule? Do you or your daughter stick to that schedule? In order for potty training to work you must be 100% consistent, Mon-Sun. No variations if you want them to get it.

| Does your dog have free range of your house? If so, I would consider crate training when you can't watch the dog and when you can watch, tether her to you so you can see what she is doing at all times. I once had someone tell me that the reason why smaller dogs are so hard to potty train is that houses seem so big to them. |

| I can tell you this much: You said you are angry and I hope that does not mean you are yelling at her. If so, you are part of the problem, not part of the solution. If you are indeed yelling and that is why she is crouching, you really need to stop it now and start employing more positive ways of housebreaking. My guess is that she has NO clue what is expected of her .. and now when she eliminates she is afraid. Start over now if this is the case. Here is a great link with wonderful, positive ways to housebreak dogs! Free House Training for Puppies and Adult Dogs - No More Accidents Starting Today!

| The link ladyjane posted is excellent. I thought I knew it all when it came to housebreaking, but I learned a lot from that site. Go to it..... you will see that your puppy cowers down because she just thinks that you are mad at her for just going - not necessarily that she's going in the wrong spot. |

| They're very smart little things, very easy to train. Patience is the key. It took me 2 months to train mine to potty on his pee pads. Please do not get angry at her. She's a baby and doesn't know what's right and what's wrong. |

| One other thing....be sure to use an enzyme cleaner on the accidents. I generally use Nature's Miracle. There are others. ~Joanne~
