| Do I crate them together or apart??? I have a 23 week old boy and a 27 week old girl. We have only had Molly for 2 weeks and Jax we have had since he was 10 weeks. Jax has always pretty much went to the bathroom on puppy pads but Molly has no experience with this. I have started taking them outside but they think this is playtime. I am at my wit's end!! These little rascals think my home is a toilet So I have read the 10 commandments of potty training and I am ready to be diligent about this. I tried leaving them in the kitchen together and they decided to chew on my crown molding and tear (and eat) the wallpaper off the walls Jax never did this on his own but since Molly has arrived, he has developed into a little turkey! By the way....I saw him do it the other day so I know Molly isn't the only culprit Anyway, my question is, do I need to crate them together or separate them during the day while I am at work? I have a pretty big enough crate that they could stay in together and hopefully not soil everything. Jax used to stay in this alone before we had Molly and he would always use a puppy pad in there. I am thinking about filling it full of toys and blankets so hopefully they wouldn't go. My mom is planning to come and let them out and lunch and my husband gets off work around 3 pm so they really wouldn't be in there too long. I hate to do this but I feel as if I have no other choice. If I leave them in the kitchen, not only will they destroy it, but they will never learn to 'hold it'. I do have another option of crating them separately. I have two crates that are plenty big but I feel guilty not letting them be together. That is why I got Molly....not just because I love her but because I didn't want to leave Jax alone all day by himself. Please if anyone has any suggestions I need them! I am so frustrated. I feel like all I do all day is clean up poop! Then I take them out and they want to play because they have already went in the house So the final question is....crate them together or separately and if so in separate rooms? Thanks in advance! I need help

| I have a six month old boy and a 3 month old girl. At first I had them in the pen all day and that just wasnt working. Sometimes they would use the pads and sometimes not. When they were out of the pen they just went wherever they happened to be at the time. I too got tired of always cleaning up after them and having to bathe them every day. Anyway, I crate them together and it seems to work for us. They are getting better and better everyday. They have only had one accident in the crate together. I have only been doing it for a little over a week and it is working out great. I am also bell training them for when they are free in the house. My little girl (who is only 3 months) has already gotten the idea of the bell training. She taps the bell with her paw and out she goes! The bell training is taking longer for my little guy but when she goes out he goes out as well. I have been following Housebreak your dog in seven days and I just customized the schedule to fit our schedule. It is working for us. Good luck! |
