| Help my dog pees in spurts I am curious if anyone can suggest what I do? I have a nearly 7months and when I take him outside he pees here and there..you would think they pee one time and get it all out but he pees in spots and I give him treats obviously when he does his business outside..but then sometimes when I come in he pees again so its almost like he pees alot..I want him to just do his thing one time and thats it so I don't have to worry about him peeing again for awhile any ideas..he is not neutered yet so I think maybe doin that would help |

| It's pretty normal for male dogs to pee several times. It's just part of being a male and marking his territory. |

| He's saving it,,so he can mark all the spots he needs to. I can walk Bailey for an hour,,and he can STILL have some in there to mark a tree when we are about done, blows my mind,, I'm always saying " YOU cant have anymore in there."

| When we are on a walk Loki will pee three times tops, usually only twice. When we let him out he stares at the sky and pees forever. I guess I'm lucky? He was neutered at 6 months. He doesn't even lift his leg. He's now 11 months old. It should get better after you get him neutered. Also, I only give him a treat now when he comes back inside. SO if he pees twice while he's out he only gets 1 treat. Maybe that discourages it. I also only let him go to ONE spot. He doesn't get to sniff the whole yard first, especially when it's cold outside. He goes potty on command.

| Lord, Boodah hikes that leg at least 3 or 4 times when we are on a walk. All males do that (reserve urine) for the sole purpose of marking their territory. Oh, and if a stray male ventures on to our property Boodah isn't happy till he's covered every bush and blade of grass with at least one drop of pee. Sometimes takes him several days while walking to get "that other dog" smell covered up. I swear it's like he's on a mission. Wants out constantly, pees, comes in, drinks more water, barks to go out.........drives me nuts. |

| It's totally normal. He's just saving some up for the next spot he wants to mark. Harley does it too. I thought (rather hoped) this behavior would cease once he was fixed but nah.. he still does it! lol Actually I think it all depends upon how tired he is or how unpleasant it is. Bc if it's rainy or cold he'll go in one shot and shoot back to the house and if he's sleepy (like before bedtime) he does the same thing. The total opposite side of the spectrum and he takes FOREVER!!
