YT Addict | What unique trick does your yorkie do? Aside from the common tricks, what unique thing does your yorkie do? Lexi will watch T.V on command. She has always liked watching t.v and it's not uncommon for her to plop her butt down in front of the tube for an entire show. We simply just associated a term with it. "Lexi, what's on TV?" she'll run up to any t.v and watch it. She also likes to watch the fish, so if I ask her "where are your fish friends?" she'll run up to the tank.

| That's so stinkin cute. Does she like Animal Planet? Bud could care less about TV. He never watches it. His most unique trick this month is going into his bed and staying there, forever, until I allow him to come back out. Wonderful trick this is, thanks to our trainer. Why didn't I ever think of this on my own. Even when the door bell rings he stays there instead of jumping all over people when they come in. It's heaven |

| Lexi's tricks sound cute! It's not cute or anything, but there are two that Kaji does. 1. "Show me your belly"- He flips over so I can clean his paw paws or his Mr Peeper. 2. "Not to far"- for when we're at a safe park and he's off leash. I only have to say it once or twice to create a border. He knows not to get past that distance.

| Oh this should be an interesting thread!! Chloe's "unique" tricks are: 1. Stick 'em up (front paws up in the air, balanced on hind legs) and Bang! (falls over from the first position and lays on her back, showing her belly) 2. Where's your "name of toy"? She knows flower (a PetStages toss ring toy), rabbit (Skinneez rabbit), ball, kong, and rope pretty reliably. She will also go looking for my husband if I ask her "Where's Jeremy?" We're trying to teach her to come find me as well but this is hard b/c my husband doesn't have as much time to work with her as I do and I can't very well give the command myself! 3. What have you got!? This one kind of happened by accident as she's always picking up small rocks from our driveway when we go potty then bringing them back in the house to play with. When we notice that she's got something in her mouth, we walk over with hands on hips and ask "What have you got!?" She rolls over on her back and looks all sweet and innocent (usually while also trying to hide the item under her tongue or by dropping it and laying her head on top of it). The "Not too far" command sounds awesome!! Sure wish I could teach that one to Chlo! -C

Thor's Human Donating Member | These are all so cool. I would love to have a signature trick, but I'm not creative enough to come up with one. In the park, I use "By Me" to indicate he should stay in my general vicinity. He's got really good recall, but I was having trouble with him repeatedly heading back over to what I called him away from in the first place. Which makes perfect sense: either he gets to do something naughty, or Mommy will call him back and give him a treat! I also use "All Done" in the park to indicate he's on his own time and can go do whatever he wants (as opposed to "Okay", which means, you're good for that one command, but keep paying attention to me). I've tried to use "All Done" indoors to indicate we're finished with training / giving out treats, but he always hopes I don't really mean it.

| I know other dogs can do this but I don't know if it is typical for a yorkie. Jamie can catch a fly ball (a soft ball) mid-air. My husband was playing fetch with her and she started wating for it and catching it in her mouth. Everytime she catches it we make a big fuss and you just know she is so proud of herself. |

YT Addict | She loves animal planet... actually anything with animals, animation or cute noises. She'll watch anything though, even the news.

| Gosh, I guess that I better get busy with Buddy to teach him something other than "off" (and the breeder taught him that before I got him!). You guys have some talented babies. |

| The best way to describe this I guess is: imagine a swimmer, approaching the wall to do a turn underwater and start a new lap... Well, Tinkerbell will run towards my DH when he comes home from work, and will launch herself about 5 feet in front of him, then turns in midair, and as she's dropping to the ground, her legs start running, and as she hits the ground, she hasn't had to change gears at all, and continues running, in the opposite direction! Most amazing thing I've ever seen a dog do. This is a natural behavior I witnessed, I need to associate it with a command to get her to do it on command....

| plays ball I didn't think this was too unusual, but those at the dog park were astonished by Jonah's ability to catch. They said they had never seen a small dog, Jonah (6#5oz) leap up into the air as high as he does to to catch a ball and of course he brings it back to me. He also uses a "big dog ball", no one can believe it will fit in his mouth! Almost entered him in a fly ball class but thought the better of it when I learned what a competitive group it was!
