| Pee Pad Mess My dog Stella loves to shred cloth...anything cloth...socks, slippers, my couch, and her soft toys. I have been able to keep these things away from her to control the damage but the problem comes in with pee pads. We tried the disposable ones but I would come home to a MESS. She would shred them and have them all over the kitchen and all stuck in her fur (at times I had to cut her fur to get rid of it all!). I then bought the washable ones and that has been better but she is still tearing them up. It's not as bad as the disposable ones but she will bite the ends until the stuffing comes out and is shredded on the floor. Does anyone know of a solution to this? Or maybe really durable washable pads? I have tried the pee pad holders but she will just eat/shred the middle part. I have tried taping them down but she will pull the tape off and I come home to her with tape stuck on her face. Sooo...if anyone has combated this problem, please HELP! |

| I have had a similar problem with tearing up potty pads! One day she will be soo good and then the next it's a huge mess! I have heard to try sparying Bitter Apple Spray on the potty pad or anything that she chews. It's good for nipping and barking as well. I just got a bottle but I have not tried it yet because she has been good these past few days. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I love washable pads, and Joey took to them really well, the first onea I made, just to make sure he'd use them, and I've since bought some. Many of our vendors make them and they sell them at Petsmart. Here's a list of YT vendors. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ore-sites.html

| Where did you get your washables from? I got mine from Ryan here and they are very durable... although none of mine chew on them.

| My girls will occaisionally get super frisky and decide to shred a pee pee pad as they did this morning. I heard their tiny little feet thumping on the floor and a little dramatic growling so I decided to check on them.......fluff every where! It was the cutest thing ever!

| Yep, my 3.5month Morkie tears them up when she's left alone in her crate. I need to find a solution and would rather not do the washable pad thing. I'm going to try Bitter Apple and pinning them down with binder clips first! |

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | well i use the quilted disposable pee pads....mine used to shred the other regular kind of disposable...and i got tired of doing extra loads of laundry with the washables and must say that with the quilted pee pads even if they attempted to shred them they didn't have much luck since it tears off in 2 pieces....the top and the bottom...lol

| I did not realize there were quilted ones. i use ones I got at Petsmart and at first it worked great (they seem very durable) but then she realized she could tear pieces off the ends. So now I come home to a pee pad that has a chomp taken out of it. LOL. I am spending so much money on this. I have tried bitter apple and fooey which did work for a while but then she got used to it and they stopped having any effect. Perhaps I will look for a different type of washable pad. I really did not want to use washables as I hate putting them in my washer but I couldnt take the mess anymore. Thanks for all your input. |

| Nancy, are the ones that you bought from petsmart the ones that are brownish tan on the top and like a light color on the bottom? I bought a 2 pack of something like that at petsmart (large size) and so far they are the best I can find. But she is starting to eat them and the blue stuff that is under the backing is becoming shred all over my kitchen floor. Haha. Can you tell me the brand and if i am not using the same ones I will try them. I dont remember the name of mine as I threw out the package. there is something on their website that is called 'pooch pads' but they look white. I cant find the ones I use on the website. I really dont know if they make washable pads that stella cant eat |

| Yeah, I think those are what I have. I really like them. they are very absorbant and wash really really well. They never stain and they never look gross. I go through them too fast though. they are expensive and I really did not think stella would eat them. haha. I have even tried sham wows but she at them too! then she would poop bright orange pieces. it was sooo gross. Thanks for your response Nancy. Perhaps she will outgrow this soon. She is really costing me - patience AND money |
