| Need to have my male squat!!! Hey, I have had my male Yorkie for almost five months. It's been great exept for one small thing. He is completely potty trained, and goes on his litter box every time. The only small problem I have is that he lifts his leg to pee and sometimes sprinkles everywhere and not just the litter box. And the funny thing as well is that when he goes outside he usually squats. lol So my question is there any way to make my male puppy to squat on the litter box so I don't have to clean up all the pee around the litter box. Thanks..... eva |

| That is a problem with males. The best solution I have found is to let the hair on their penis grow long. Then when they pee it doesn't spray and runs down the hair to the ground. I know someone else who fills a plastic milk bottle with water and sets it in the middle of the pee pad and the dogs pee on it. My boy has been lifting his leg for over a year and now all of a sudden has gone back to squatting. So I guess there is always hope.

| Barney used to squat when he used pads, but once he got used to cocking his leg outside he refused to use the pads again, I don't think he likes the squatting anymore. I'm going to try the milk bottle trick as there is a foot of snow outside and he HATES it!!! |
