| Is it possible he has some security issues with being outside? The one other things that come to mind to me are also... is he easily distracted? I know when I walk Winston (apt dwellers) he'll often urinate pretty easily, but it we encounter an aggressive dog or he gets distracted by another animal like a squirrel - he'll often "forget" that we came out there to do other things as well. |

| Riot is about a week shy of being a year old and he's started doing this, as well as forgetting his manners and some tricks. Just poops inside though, hasn't started peeing inside. I talked to the trainer at PetCo when I was in there the other day and she said at his age, he's like a stubborn rebellious teenager. She said to keep working with him on everything and the phase should pass and he should start behaving again. But I agree about distractions or maybe being afraid of something outside could be causing him to not want to go outside.

| I read that if you take your dog for a walk on a different path than you normally take, both the excitement of the walk and the new smells will make them go poo....it's worked pretty well with mine. I just alternate two or three different trails for our walks and he goes pretty regularly now. |

| YAY!! I was going to suggest standing in one spot and only allowing him to go as far as the leash stretches and usually they calm down and aren't distracted and remember what they came to do.
