| PLEASE HELP! does duty in..... My gal has started to go in her create at night. She pees in it and it does not seem to bother her. She is just in the create at night only. I take her outside just before bed and she goes. I am not in favor of limiting her water before bed time, but any ideas? |

| Maybe you could put her crate in an xpen , leave the crate door open and provide a pee pad for her to use in the night time when she has to pee!! When I decided to outside train my puppy I got up at 12-3-530 am and took her outside, my vet told me her bladder was the size of a quater and she could not hold it all night long!! Also make sure you really really wash all her bedding and the crate well as she may still smell pee and think its okay to go in her crate.... I do believe if she has an expen and an open door to her crate she will not pee where she sleeps if an alternative is offered to her... if you do not have an expen can you put her crate in the bathroom or kitchen , gate if off , put toys , crate pee pee pad there for her?? If might help her to pee where she is supposed too and not in her bed!

| My gal is 6 months old and weights about 4lbs. When she was younger she would get me up, then went for a while not and did nothing in the create. She just started going on the towel that I have in the create at night. I change the towel and clean it evertime she goes pee. |

Mine is about half and half. Some nights she can go all night some nights she can't. I just change it as needed. But at 6 months I would say she will outgrow it. | |

| I have a large crate. I put a cat litter box in the back with a potty pad in it and they use that at night if they have to go.

| So far limiting the water has worked. I try to limit it about 1 1/2 to 2 hours before we go to bed. Seem to be doing the trick. Thanks so much for all your ideas and help! |

Yorkie Yakker | bless your heart. I had a Yorkie that did the same... even when she was 5 years old she did it... I honestly have NO clue why they would do that... never seen a dog that would poop or pee where they lay. She was on a tight schedule, she would be out all day even when we worked but in her crate at night some nights... it NEVER failed she'd go in it. I wish I could help but just wanted you to know that I have been there too

| wow, I thought my girl was the only one who still pees in the crate. I have tried everything, limiting her water, taking her out several times to go but she still goes in the crate at least 2-3x's per week. She also goes in the house more often then I would like. I take her out several times throughout the day and she knows to go outside, so I don't understand why she still goes inside the house and/or in the crate. She's 2 yrs old now and a little over 16lbs. The vet told me that she probably will never outgrow this habit but I am hopeful that she will. Any help or suggestions? |
