| Can't walk Dog with Bad Weather I've had Sammy for 1 year now, he's been peeing and pooping inside on his pooch pad. Ever since I got another baby yorkie girl (12 wks old) and she pee/pooped on Sammy's pad, Sammy stopped peeing and pooping on his own pad. Even after we changed it, no hope. Sammy has no problem with going outside whenever we walk him, but lately it's been raining hard so that leaves me no choice but to not walk him. I have a balcony in my townhome that I am trying to get him trained to go bathroom at. It has a roof and it's a pretty decent size for him to walk around. I don't even care where in the balcony he pees or poop, as long as he goes -- i don't care. But he doesn't go. I bought this fake grass thing made for dogs to pee on, cost me $150, no use. He squirt a little bit, I even treated him, and never again he'd go on it. I even tried to setup a pee pee mat that he previous pee on still no use. What should i do? How can I make him go outside at the balcony?

| I am not sure but will try to help. My two year old wont go out in the rain to pee. but is pee pad trained too. but for a while he would not pee on the pad . I ended up putting the pee pad in a dog pen I sized just big enough for him to go in. We do this a lot when camping.Even if you can just put the pee pad in an area and block him in somehow he might go on it. I told him to go and left him alone. He went.I am not sure if that would work for you or not. It is best to do it first thing in the morning when they have to really go and maybe give a treat after for going. You will get probably better advice on here from others as well An exercise dog pen is so great to have if you can afford one.You can size them to any length or square big or small. Good luck |

| Sammy has no problem with going outside whenever we walk him, but lately it's been raining hard so that leaves me no choice but to not walk him. If Sammy goes potty outdoors I wouldn't stop. Put a raincoat on him and go out with an umbrella. I walk in rain, snow and sleet because Buddy has to go out. No way do I want him going on the deck. They learn to go fast in weather they don't like. Amazing how smart they can be. Why ruin a good thing if Sammy goes outdoors. It only takes a couple of minutes. I carry Buddy and he's 16lbs to the area where he goes then carry him home under the umbrella. He's heavy but he's my Yorkie |
