| Re-potty training HELP So here's our situation... We have a 8 month old neutered yorkie boy. He was pee-pad trained pretty well until some things messes him up. We need help now. Here are the things that messed him up: 1. We got a grass potty tray and put it outside and we began training him to go there when we were at home with him. So the idea was - peepads when he's alone, porch potty when we're here with him. This confused him a little bit and he started to have some, but not too many, accidents. 2. Soon after that, we had to evacuate from our home for about 3 weeks because of an out of control forest fire that was threatening our home. We stayed mostly in hotels and in other people's homes. Our little guy did great. All we had to do was lay down a peepad somewhere and say "go potty here" and he would go there even on his own. So he was peeing on the pad by himself, then we were pooing him outdoors. We came back home to a house that smelled like smoke and ashes. This was about 3 weeks ago. Anyways, when we came home, we stopped trying to train him to go pee outside (too many changes for him we thought) and we let him go pee on his peepad. This is when ALOT more accidents started to happen. He first would pee just off his peepad, then today, he started peeing and pooing just wherever he well pleased. Do you have any insight/suggestions? Also, is it confusing for him to be trained to go outside and inside? Are any of your dogs trained to do both? Thanks for reading! |
