| Help! My Yorkie Likes Pooping In His Crate!!! Help! My Yorkie Likes Pooping In His Crate!!! I am trying to potty train him but somehow he thinks it's ok to poop in his crate. It's gross especially when he steps on it! Argh!

| I definitely understand. When we brought Vivi, our rescue, home in March, I believe she thought the crate was the correct place to poo. We have been working on this and she is much improved. I think keeping a schedule and positive reinforcement have really helped. Also, in the beginning I also kept her on a leash everywhere in the house. Hope all goes well with your training and don't give up. They are so worth it!

| I agree with the above and would add make sure he gets out to poop after feeding.. now mine has a set thing poop am and pm and forget half hour after every meal. So if you can figure out his body clock on pooing that would help. Also is the crate to big so that he can poop and move away. Most dogs will not poop in there beds if it is to small so he can not move away from it and just big enough to stand up turn around andlay down. JL
