| He will only do it inside the house... Hi everyone! Paco is 1 year old and has been going pee and #2 on pee pads ever since I got him (last August). We go on long walks and he won't go pee or #2 until we get home. I'd like to train him to go outside but haven't had any luck ... can anyone give me any tips??

| I'm having the same problem, My puppy is 6 months old, loves to go outside and plays , then acts like OMG gotta go and runs back in to pee and poo on his puppy pads...I think he's to well housetrained! I really would love a solution to this as the puppy pads are unsightly by the front door |

| Have you tried taking the pee pads outside that have their sent on them? That is a house breaking tip I read. I usually start mine young and then take them to the same spot everytime. Or even take a piece of poop or pick them up as they are doing their business and run outside then if they finish outside give them a treat. Mine are really spoiled I take them out all the time and walk with them till they go. If not they will have accidents. I also have to get an umbrella and go out. Um, Who is TRAINED here?!:aim eeyork

| I have 2 other dogs who go out with him, a 7 y/o shiz/yorkie mix and a 11 y/o terrier mix who are totally house trained, you'd think he'd follow their example, yup tried the puppy pad on the front porch , I throw his poop out in the front yard in hopes of the scent thing working, I've tried leaving him out longer but nope.. |

| He's my first problem child We had doggy door which led to a fenced in back yard when the others where puppies and that helped ALOT, but we live in a new house out in country on a dead end street no fence so no doggy door for my babies, he house trained very early which surprised me, slept all night without pottying when he was like 3 months old...maybe wilth the guidance of his brothers he will pick up on it soon and not be backwards |

| Hopefully. You don't want to keep him on potty pads forever. I know I wouldn't. Let me know what happens.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | The 2 of mine that are pad trained will not ever pee outside, and the third who I tried to pad train, but preferred to go outside like my pom. I wish they would all use the same thing but they won't.

| I'd be even satisfied if he just wouldn't insist on using the pads at the front door and only use the ones in the bathroom |

| My last 2 yorkies were outside goers. My pup is a potty pad user. I'm never going to the outside thing again. I love the freedom of knowing my little guy doesn't have to cross his legs when I'm late getting home. I actually never even knew about these until a year ago. So when I got my new one, I thought I'd give it a go. I love potty pads!!!

| I rearrainged the furniture yesterday, now there is a couch where the pads were near the front door, i hand scrubbed the floor, which is wood. I put some pads on the front porch, with poo and pee already on them, left the pads already existing in the bathroom/bedroom as he already was familiar with them being there incase he has to potty in the middle of the night. Been filling him up with treats when he goes in and outside and making a big deal of "lets go PEEPEE' still no progress...BTW hes 6 mo old now and does hike his leg so puppy pads are a hit and miss...must have patience |
