| Potty regression is driving me nuts! Help!!! My Zoe will be 1 year old next week and she is the love of my life. I got her when she was 9 weeks old and she has been very easy to potty train, to my surprise. I work from home so I was able to be very attentive to her during the initial training and I was very happy to say that by the time she was 4 months old we were completely accident-free. However, about 3 weeks after she had surgery at 6.5 months old for spay, hernia repair and teeth removal she started peeing on every surface around the pad! 4 times out of 5 she pees on the tile and not the pad (never on carpet tho). I tried to go back to the system that worked and reward and praise her when she goes on the pad but it’s not working. Her surgery was in January and now it’s June and I’m still cleaning accidents everyday. I’ve tried neutralizing that room with the special spray, putting more pads down, treats and praise, nothing has stuck. Does anyone have any idea why this started happening after she had been so good before? She only poops outside and goes for 2 to 3 walks a day and pees outside just fine too. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! |

| If she's not suffering from urinary incontinence, a permanent loss of bladder control, have you gotten her checked for a Urinary Tract Infection? I am so sorry you are going through this with your little girl now. I hope you are able to figure it out soon and get things back on track. Good luck! |

| lucy is an potty pad edge pee'er, she used to get it under the pad, on the tile, etc... Providing there is no health issues......Then, I got a couple washable potty pads from Little Bit, on YT forum, to put under the paper potty pads (it extends the area by a 4 to 5 inch boarder) - it was an instant fix to all the problems.

| I had the same problem right after my Max got teeth removed. It turned out to be a urinary tract infection. However, once the infection was cured he established this bad behavior. My Husband was working from home at the time so what he had to do was keep him a 6ft lease and took him wherever he went for about a week. This allowed my husband to keep a close eye on him. If he saw Max looked like he had to eliminate he brought him to the wee wee pad until he went. Then we took the lease off but closed off whatever room we were in to limit his access to the apartment. Also when he hadn’t gone to bathroom after some time I would close off the wee wee pad by folding the playpen into a square… like a cage around the pad… and I kept him in there until he went to the bathroom. And always jumping for joy when coming on the wee wee pad and giving a great treat. This time around was definitely harder than the beginning but he learned it again very quickly. It has been about 8 months since all of this and luckily he only misses every once in a while if he lifts the wrong leg… hahaha Good Luck! |

| There is a great saying that goes sometimes you have to go back to go foarwrd. he may just be switching his learned skills from short term to long term memorry. Start at the beginnning and train it again. each time it will get faster and easier to get the reults you need and it will stick at somepoint Jl

| I never considered UTI or hormones or anything like that. I thought she was just being stubborn! She gets groomed at the vet so I'll ask them the next time I go but in the meantime I'll try the leash thing during the day with treats, back to the basics. She's such a good little girl otherwise, we've just gotta get past this hurdle. Thanks for the tips... |
