Yorkie Yakker | I got a silky terrier My question is i have a 9 week old silky terrier and we are crate training her. But every time we put her in there by her self she cries. But when we put her dad in there with her she doesn't. Now i wanna know how can i crate train her without her dad in there so she doesn't cry? |

| Confine to a small area would be my guess from what i've read.. I blame most of jd's accidents on lack of daily walks. Since i still work it's not always easy.. Good luck with the new furbaby!!

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | you will have to deal with the crying until she stops...if you keep giving in to her then she will associate her crying will bring you in...trust me i been there done that...and there was nights where i could not even sleep due to the crying...until eventually which was like several days later they learn that crying doesn't get what they want...hehe...then after being quiet for a while i would go let them out...let them know that if they are quiet then they get a positive reward

| Well, I'm no expert but what I did with Lacey is when she would start up I'd smack the cage to get her attention and say "Lacey NO....lay down" . I was so shocked that it worked like a charm. I can finally sleep now. Every now and then she'll start to whine at night and all I have to do is say lay down. Not bad for a nine week old puppy right?! |
