| Worse than before My seven month old yorkie was doing great when it came to using the pads. About three weeks ago, he started staying home alone from 8 to 5, and now he goes everywhere but on the pads. It makes sense that this is probably his way of letting me know that he doesn't like this new change. However, on the weekends, when the whole family is home all day, he still goes everywhere. Should I limit his space with a crate when I am not home? Should I get him fixed? (I've heard that males act out when they are not fixed) I don't know what to do. Please help. -Melissa |

| You need to confine him in a small space untill he uses the pads. I used an xpen. Also unneutered males can mark so if your not breeding him I would get him neutered. He will be a much better pet neutered

| I never had to crate Mimi. I bought the spray that you put on the wee wee pad and it encourages them to go there. You should also clean the other places he goes because he will go on those places again if he smells his urine. I know its hard potty training but doing the reward system works. Everytime I saw Mimi go on the pad I gave her a yummy treat and I praised her so much for it. Now she always goes on the pad, but of course sometimes when she runs all over the house she has accidents here and there but i don't expect her to be perfect all the time =D
