| Smell Hi all, I dont know where this question should go but here it goes. My lil Oso produces this smell every once in a while. It is hard to describe.. but lets just say.. it smells horrible . He was just neutered on Friday, and when I picked him up I could smell it but thought it was due to the surgery. But today as he was sitting on my lap.. he did it again. It is coming from the booty.. that bad part, is I can not give him a bath now. Not until he heals.. has any one else experienced this smell. Please advise. I will ask his Vet on Friday when he goes back. |

Thor's Human Donating Member | Is the smell fishy? It sounds like he might need his anal glands expressed. Try posting this in the "Health" forum, or pm an admin and ask them to move this thread. There are a lot of very knowledgable people there.

Thor's Human Donating Member | A fishy smell from the butt is a classic sign that the anal glands need to be expressed. I'm not sure if you can do that right after neuter surgery, but the good news is that you can make the smell go away. The people in the "Health" forum will probably know when you can get them expressed, or you can call your vet.
