| Potty training at night?? my yorkie will be crated at night... my question is should i get up during the night to let him outside? (we are outside only training) or should i keep him in the crate all night so he doesnt get used to going outside in the middle of the night? of course the ultimate goal is to have him sleep through the night without pottying but i'm not sure if i should start that from day one, or let him out during the night...?? also, should i leave food and water in his crate overnight? or take it out so he doesnt have to constantly pee and poo during the night? thanks bunches!! |

| When I first got Jackson at 9 weeks old, I would let him out once, sometimes twice, in the middle of the night. Their little bladders are just so small. But probably at about 15/16 weeks old, he was sleeping (in my bed) and through the night! From 10pm-7am. Now he will usually sleep til 8am.

| Cleo is 16 almost 17 weeks old. She sleeps in her travel carrier next to my bed. We still get up 1 to 2 times a night to potty. She lets me know by barking that she needs to go. I am now limiting her to 1 time b/c i have started to notice that she doesn't usually go the 2nd time and it is usually with 1-1 1/2 hours of my alarm going off, so i make her wait.

YorkieTalk Newbie! | My Boomer is 13 weeks and he's being crate trained for outside only. I take up his water by 9pm and give him his last potty breaks at 11pm and 1am. He's now holding it for just over 5 hours through the night, so we're up at 6am, then right back to the crate til I'm up around 8am. I've had him for 10 days and started with only 2 hours of sleep during the night. I add about 15min to my alarm every night and he's holding it longer and longer! |

| Laker is 10 weeks and we keep him in his travel carrier during the night. He's only had 2 accidents during the night since we got him last monday. My wife & I get up every morning at 5 to let him go potty. We place the carrier inside his play pen and open the door. Laker trots out to his pee pad in the corner and does just fine. ...... Now if we could just get him to use a pee pad outside his play pen Help!!

| Laci is 17 weeks and she wakes up 1 time during the night and I do take up her water at 8, its really hard the first couple of weeks because hey arent used to holding it, until you get to know them you need to take them out when they wimper because you do not know if they have to go! when I first got Laci at 12 weeks she had to go pee 3 times a night it was just like having a newborn.. she couldnt hold it she was so tiny.. |
