| ideas how to know when she needs to go out Bria has been doing pretty good with potty training outside when i take her out she goes. she even does good with the crate my problem is we have no idea when she needs to go out she doesn't go up to the door or anything and that of course leads to accidents Right now its like we are just getting "lucky" with the timing

| It took us a loooong time to figure this out but Daisy would walk over to us and stare at us. We finally figured out that is what she did to let us know she had to go potty. Once we figured this out potty training became so much easier.

| It really helps to always go out the same door to potty. Snickers goes out of my sliding window and always sits and waits here when he needs to go. We also always go out the same door for walks so he knows when it's time for a walk and sometimes he will tell us Good luck!!

I have a feeling its going to take us a looooong time too. I even ask her "want to go potty" and she just does the head tilt maybe that's her way of saying..yes!

| Do you mean signs of knowing when she has to go pee? Because most dogs will begin sniffing around on your floor looking for a place to go. Whenever Jackson would do this, I'd say "have to potty?" and bring him outside and repeat "Go potty!" and then praise like crazy. Most of the time, Jackson now sits at the back door and just stares at me from afar, LOL. It's so cute.

| Well... we used the technique of the old joke that goes: The drunk said to his wife: Wake me up when I get thirsty! She: Okay, but when will you be thirsty? He: Whenever you wake me up... Meaning, we went outside on a strikt schedule every 2 hours and before bedtime. Now we have a doggie door and no accidents anymore... |

| Do you pick her up to take her out, or do you say lets go out and let her walk? She needs to do the walking to the door(the same door everytime) by herself, then she will start going to it when she has to go out |

| I let her walk to the door when we go out. I guess i just need to give it some time but she seems to understand to potty outside seeing that she has few accidents.

| Sounds like you're doing everything right. She'll get the hang of it, just don't forget to have the treats on hand so you can give it to her as soon as she goes |

| Ever since my dog had a urinary tract infection, he has been on a strict schedule. My dining room reeks of dog urine and I need to clean my carpet badly...But that's another story for another time. When he was getting over it I took him outside for a walk every single hour I was home. Then we went every two hours. Now I take him out about every three hours. It is a major pain because I live in an apartment in Michigan (horrendous weather) but it is well worth no accidents in the house. He whimpers if he has to go outside. I know his bowel movements better than my own! |

| Princess gets right in your face aand growls at us and if I try to ignore her she bats my face with her little paw. EVERY TIME I ignore her, there is pee or poop on the floor. EVERY TIME. So I guess thats how she tells us.
