| Older Dog now has accidents My chihuahua, Tequi, was totally housebroken, never, ever had accidents. Now that I have my yorkie Mini, she wants to tee tee on any new rug I bring in. I just put down wood floors so I bought several area rugs. She now wants to mark them I guess. She would never have done this before. At first I thought maybe Mini had used them, but yesterday Tequi used the bathroom on a rug just a minute after I put it down and Mini had not used it first. Any suggestions. By the way, Mini is doing excellent using the papers. Tequi is the one regressing. Any suggestions. |

She may be jealous that you have brought in another baby. Hopefully once she really realizes that she's not going anywhere she will get better. She is probably showing her dominance.

| Now that you mention it, Tequi just started this about a week ago and I got Mini in June. I do brag a bunch on Mini and she gets a treat when she pee pees/poops, however, I also hand Tequi one too. Maybe she thinks she'll get a treat when she goes on the rug. She started using the rug outside the room where Mini's pads are. I keep the pads in separate rooms. So, I think you are right that I'm giving MIni a lot of attention because I was training her so Tequi started using the rugs near Mini's room. Aren't they something? They are wonderful and frustrating all at the same time. I thought it was because I was bringin in new rugs and smells, but I realize you are right. Thanks for your help. |
