| My Pup Won't Potty Outside..Help! I posted this on a different forum, but I think it would be best here. My 4 month old puppy is such a doll. However, she doesn't potty outside. Sometimes she does pee pee, but never poo. I'll bring her in, and she goes in the kitchen on or near the pee pad. She's been doing this since we got her, but I'm trying to have her get used to going outside. Do you know any tricks? Is it because she won't go on a leash? Thanks!

| Nah, the leash is probably a good thing. Outside trips have to be very focused on pottying, and you have to watch her every single SECOND she is indoors and not in a crate. The only indoor accidents that are not further harming your potty training are the ones that you can catch her in the middle of, stop her, and then go take her outside to finish (followed immediately by a super delicious treat). Please, go check out this thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/tra...potty-log.html There are a whole bunch of helpful tips in it, along with lots of other people going through the same stuff you are. And don't stop there - there are about a million threads on how to potty train here on YT! Do a search, or if you scroll down to the very botton of any of the pages on YT, there's an option to use Google to search specifically through all of YT. There are methods that work, but they require a crapload of effort. Potty training is by far harder for us moms and dads than it is for our furbabes (and furdudes). Lauren & Nikko |
