| Harley is barking way to much. . . Hello all i just recently got my baby Harley less than a week ago. He is 11 weeks as of yesterday. He is ajusting quit well. He has a bad habit of barking when placed in the crate. Or if we leave him confinded to the kitchen if he cant get out he barks. We live in an apartment and the barking is getting out of hand its disturbing the neighbors. Because he barks non stop we are unable to crate train him. He is a baby but i have no idea how to control the barking problem or if it is a faze he will out grow. I have tried ignoring it i have tried placing toys in the crate warm blakets i have praised him when he is quiet i have ran out of ideas. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP! |

| When you are home and he barks shake a can with change in it at him and say no bark. For when your away you may need to get one of those barking devices that omits a noise. You might try leaving a radio on for him when you leave also

| ^ Agree with the shaking can. It's worked for the most part for Jackson.

| The barking thing is a difficult one with Yorkies because they are very vocal and at 11 weeks he's found that he has a voice I know when he barking you want to shut him up right away But you have to be smart about how you approach it If you start yelling and get all excited .... that will make him bark more not less When he barks CALMLY get in his field of vision and say No Bark! He'll likely stop for a minute .... and you then say Good Boy and pet him and give him a treat keep doing this again and again until he gets the idea With mine .... one of mine is a barker When I do this he starts complaining but doesn't bark He does this bark-whine that sounds like a little kid complaining that "he never gets to do anything Fun" But you have to be constant with this .... never let him get on a barking jag without you stopping him
