| walking i am having a hard time taking charlie for a walk. When I run, he will run after me. Otherwise, he refused to walk at all. He would lay down and refused to get up. Otherwise if he does walk, he will want to walk in a different direction then mind. He will pull and pull in that direction (which is always to the house). How did you train your puppy to walk nicely outside? |

| Did you train him on leash walking at all? It takes a while before a puppy will get the message that the leash is something that is not hurtful or a chew toy To train them you have to put the leash on let them walk around with it on to get the feel of something being attached to the collar start picking up the leash without pulling on it then slowing start picking it up and lightly direct them places this will take a few sessions Mine right now are still thinking that they are great for chewing

| Piper was the same way when he was young. I even went out and got him a stroller so we could go on walks together. As he got older he got better, but he still won't walk too much. He'll just lay down, and look up at me. I think he's trying to tell me I have longer legs then him, and I need to carry him. LOL
