| barking while i leave... i left jackson today for the longest time since i got him, which still wasn't very long... i was gone from about 1:30pm-6:30pm. but it's not like he was even fully left alone, my stepdad, mother and sister were here. and my step-dad let him out twice during the period, but would put him right back in the crate. he gave him a treat and everything when he went potty. but apparantly he barked excessivley while i was gone in the crate... and would only stop for short periods of time. it's sweet he's so attached to me but wow! haha. any suggestions on what i can do?

| If there is someone at home, are you able to leave jackson out? Mine wouldn't stay in the crate if he knows someone is at home.

| yeah, I agree if I'm not home but my hubby or the girls are Gucci is out or in his x-pen if he can't be supervised by an adult at the time. Maybe if you get him an x-pen that would help, if your family doesn't want him out in the house? |

| I know haha Bailey is as good as gold when i am out and does not cry at all. When my nan comes to vist she is 70 i put him away in his crate as she is very unstable on her feet and bailey jumps up alot, he is always as good as gold and never cries and goes straight to sleep. when i am home alone tho he follows me around like my little shadow and cries to be on my knee the moment i sit on the couch, he wont sleep on his bed and thinks i am alot more warmer and nicer to sleep on lol. hes my little hot water bottle lol xx

| yeah, my family definitely can't watch him, lol. there's a young baby in the house as well, it's too much work for them and i don't expect them to. i actually ordered an x-pen that should be here by christmas so i'm looking forward to having that. it will make it much easier for me to keep an eye on him!

| Of course he is going to cry and bark and whine when you leave him crated Puppies like to be free and play try at least to pen him instead of keeping him in a crate for any length of time

| your rite he does have to get used to it...bailee has taken to throwing tantrums latey...shes bite her blanket and tears it up and does the sameto her bear, then shell look at me like"is that enough to get me out" lol its cute but i ignore her until it stops or it could become a big problem lol...maybe try sitting down with him once a day and put him in the crate, ignore him until he stops barking and then let him out and praise him, maybe he will get the idea.gradually leave him longer

| It's called separation anxiety and all dogs have it to a certain degree a way to help it is not to play and give the puppy lots of loving right before you go out If you are kissing him and playing with him right before you leave he's going to be worse no goodbyes.... no "be a good boy" just go

| thanks for the advice i got him an x-pen, hoping to fix the barking when i leave problem... nope, lol. he cannot stand it! he barks for soo long but i've just been dealing with it until he finally stops. i don't want him to think every time he barks, i'm going to come right to him. i play with him plenty... ahh! lol. if i'm sitting in the pen with him, he could care less about me and just sits and chews his toys, etc, but the minute i get out of it he barks and whines for me.

| Right now you're his world .... his Mom his playmate His feeder .... everything so when you leave it's scary if you have to leave don't make any fuss about it go and he'll calm down If you want to buck up his confidence in you go out on some errands and come back to the house each time but when you leave and come back no kisses or cries of joy make it as matter-of-fact as you can
