| Pooping and peeing on furniture! Last night Bailey pooped on our sofa while I was bathing the girls. He had a shower earlier in the day with my boyfriend so he didn't need one. I often wash the girls and my live-in boyfriend bathes him. He is turning one this month and has never done this before. We were shocked and angry he would behave this way. We just assumed it was a one time thing. However, this morning while my boyfriend was getting ready for work, Bailey peed on his bed. Now we really think something is going on with him. He has always been so good about going potty on the pee pad and outside and relatively easy to potty train. I don't understand why he's doing this. Is he trying to establish dominance now that he's a year old? Has anyone else's dog gone potty on their furniture? Advice please!

| charlie marked our couch the day we brought him home (he's 7). he poops in the kitchen and hallway... i'm not sure why, if he just can't hold it, or if he's jealous. i'll be interested in other responses to your issue. i hope things improve for you. |

| Lily, just turned four months. She has peed on our couch a few times and also peed on my daughters bed a few times. I am not sure why she does this either.

| Duke has a similar problem, he is trained to go on his pad, but everytime that i put a new rug down (which i need now since it's getting cold out) he pees on the rug instead. no matter how many times i clean it up with any type of cleaner he does it again. i rolled the rug up but recently put it back down and he already peed on it while i wasn't looking. i'm not sure what to do with this? live rug-free?

| I've had my share of problems with JD too, all my other Yorkie pups (also male) were no problem.. He gets lots of walks, goes walking around the lake, so I have never understood all the "markings" in the house.. will be curious to what you all say..

| Is Bailey neutered? If not, he is probably marking his territory. If he is neutered, you should always suspect a urinary tract infection when you notice a change in potty habits with a housetrained dog. A trip to the vet is in order. |
