| You know it is tough when we can not see the body language to know it if it is a play snap or an I am scared snap or a aggression snap. How old is she? What was her attitude when you picked her from the litter? First one to you or last one? What was her soicalization like before you got her? She may be scared of him and want him to back off or it could be play just that she does not play well yet. Or a whole boat load of stuff and as we can not see the interaction we can not tell. Seprate them behind baby gates and let things settle down and if you can get a triner in to see what is going on that may help you feel better about the whole thing. JL

| She is terrified so she is in her exercise pen. I think she is snapping because she is scared and Scooby is jumping everywhere wanting to play with her. He is whining because he wants to play so bad. Poor babies. Her for being so scared and him for feeling so rejected. |

| Hmm, I wonder if a firm NO, and a distraction may help her change her ways? They are pretty smart and many catch on FAST. You know something that worked for my 2 was put them in the backyard or park that is gated, and let them run and play to get acquainted. She may get over her fear of him, and he may get over the curiousity of her. Hope that helps.

| new yorkie I got a new yorkie @10 wks of age. I have 2 dogs that are each 2 years old. I was so upset that the pup snapped at the older dogs and he teased them to death. Their only salvation was to get up on the couch where the pup couldn't jump. It took about a week before they are all playing together. The 2 years olds are a KC cavalier and a coton De Tulear. | I'd not jump on the punishment wagon yet.. Let her settle down and Scooby to. It not fair to punish her if she scared as she just doing it out of fear and she will not trust you to keep her safe if your telling her no she not right to be scared. Take a deep breath and maybe give her some quiet time without Scoody. Take scoody for a long long walk and tire him out so he is less bouncy and maybe that will help to.Oh and maybe have him in the xpen for a while and her out... it going to be ok, it just takes time. It can take at least a years sometimes for things to settle in and you have had her only just a very short time. Trust needs to be built all the way around. JL

| I wouldn't dream of punishing either one. I agree with what you said and am going to take Scooby for a walk and then to the neighbors for a play date. That usually wears him out and she can have some time to rest and get used to her surroundings. I'm kind of concerned about when the kids come home from school. Should I tell them look but don't touch yet? |

May help but it should have been started to work in the whole house before the puppy came home but it will work in a room that you can close the door. It may help calm things down... it depends on the dogs though. Best bet is hand off by kids until she is ready.. oh but that does not mean they can not have her out of the x pen and let her come to them as she exploring just means no pick pack and hauling around. She may vey much need human comfort. JL
