| washable potty pads hi there- i have a random question. i recently got a washable potta pad. how often am i supposed to wash it? for those of you that own them, do you wash yours everyday? i was wondering if it's ok to leave them unwashed for a few days or until the smell becomes unbearable. my puppy uses it to just pee and not poop, just an fyi. |

| We have a few on hand and wash them everyday. The smell is more than I can handle, and I don't want her walking around on a dirty pad, which makes her stinky too. If she's staying overnight with her grandparents, they wash it once a day, which seems to do ok. At home, though, she spends a bit of time in her room with the pad while I'm at work and it gets "full" pretty quickly. Having a couple of extra is good b/c even if you aren't able to do wash, you can tie the dirty one off in an extra plastic bag and do a load of them- just like wearing down your own undies until the last pair! | I usually wash them daily. Of course right now with 7 puppies and two mommies using one it is much more often than that. Glad I have a lot of pads!

| I have 9 pads for Tink. I usually fold one up and lay it on the washer until I have 2 which is enough for a medium load. I put a clean one down every day because I don't like them to get full. I add 1-2 cups of vinegar to the water, depending on how strong the urine smell is. Tink only uses them at night, otherwise she goes potty outside. |

| Lady won't use a wet pad so I have to change them every time she uses it. I wash pads everyday. I keep the wet pads in a diaper pail in my laundry room so the smell isn't too bad (until I open the lid )! I never in a million years thought I would switch to washables, but I started having trouble finding good pads that weren't paper thin. Now I can't imagine going back to disposables. |

| Yes, we too wash them daily because of having two and sometimes four yorkies tee teeing on mine...they also don't hide the odor like the disposable ones do. I would also recommend getting more than one, it just makes it easier for you. I have noticed one negative problem with mine since we have been using these washable ones...they seem to pee on my bath mats and throw rugs throughout the house where as we didn't have this problem when we started out on disposable ones...

| yea, i'm going to wash them daily. it's so true how they can smell just by walking around on the dirty pad. have you guys also heard of ugodog(www.ugodog.net)? it's an indoor dog potty. i'm always looking for cost effective and easy to clean solutions. i'm thinking of getting it for my puppy. have any of you guys heard of it or used it? |
