| Is it too late to potty train outside? Hi everyone, I have a question in regards to potty training. I got Riley when he was 8 months old from a great breeder here in Atlanta (Ava Tyree). She had him pretty much trained on the pads when I got him. I think during the transition from her home to our home he may have had 4 accidents. Well, he turned a year old on 8/14 and I would really like for him to go outside. He has gone (pee and poo) outside a few times but not consistently. He doesn't seem to like the grass especially if it's wet (like in the mornings). If I put him on the grass (wet or dry) he will hop right off not so much if it's dry. I've kept him out there for a while and he will hold it until we go inside. Well, when I brought him in he went to the pad to go and I grabbed him and took him back outside. He didn't go. I left for work and my boyfriend called and said that he tried to go on the carpet. So, I think when I took him off the pad that confused him What can I do?

| Humm my girls go in the pads and outside I always make sure that I use one word "go potty" so they don't get confused. I have read on training books that you move the pads closer to the door then outside and give the command then when they start going outside in the pad remove the pad and always praise, praise make a big deal of it, sorry can't help you more, just becareful with hawks, eagles, coyotes other animals they can harm a yorkie easy outside and if is cold make sure he has his jackets, sweater etc |
