| How long have you had them together? If you just got one of them, then yes they need to be separated. They probably should be separated temporarily anyway until you can train them or get them used to each other. If it gets out of control I would suggest you find a trainer or behaviorist.

| I've had Jersey since she was 10 weeks old and she's grown up with my other Yorkies girls. Always got along with them but as she's matured she has gotten aggressive with them so yes Yorkies do fight. PLEASE consider rehoming now as it's apparant that your other one is Alpha and may have a problem with other dogs. Training helps but it does not eliminate it. Jersey is 17 months now and it's heartbreaking to have to rehome her. I'd hate to see someone else go through it. I really would rehome one of them. If she's this alpha at this young age it's only going to get worse as she matures. Elaine |

| I brough them toguether the same day, from different breaders. I thought I had to do it because one alone would be lonely. They sleep cuddleup with each other, next to me. Lola the shipoo, is 3 pounds, and gaining wight fast(eats nonstop) Trixie is barely 1 lbd. So far lola is not doing much tro trixie, but one bite in the wron place will be the end of her. Be it brakes my heart to deside who is going to go. I love them both bery much. |

No Longer a Member | You should be the one in charge and punish her for being aggressive by lying her down on her back holding her and telling her no. Make her lay there for awhile until you say ok. Repetition repetition. It really doesnt hurt her just lets her know that she should not fight or bite. Don't let her get by with it not even once. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | OK I have nine dogs 5 female and 3 males, one un-neutered. I baby sit some of the puppies I sold and just last Saturday had 14 dogs in my back yard playing. I have them all trained that if I say NO they stop what ever they are doing. Has anyone ever seem how many dogs the dog Whisperer keeps together? Training should always work, but that being said if you cannot train the dogs they one should be rehomed before there is a real problem. Even with training If I'm not home I do separate my males.

| you do not have to rehome one, you need to train and establish a hierarchy. i have a 4.5lb yorkie, and a 100lb (puppy, 15months) dog called a shiloh shepherd. my yorkie tried to be the top dog with the puppy (when he was 8wks old he was 18lbs) and the bigger pup was a push over. i had to establish dominance over the yorkie (who was still a pup at about 6months old) so that the yorkie knew that i was the boss. the only time there has been blood was when my yorkie bit my shilohs canine and cut the inside of his mouth. if your dog is drawing blood you need to stop it asap. even if you need to make a makeshift muzzle to stop it. then make sure you are the alpha, you do not have to be mean, or violent to be the top dog, just in control. you will know you are top dog when you say something and they stop to look at you, or you step between them and they both stop what they are doing. if you need to consult a professional trainer. |

| If you do have to give one of them up.. Most of the time breeders (a good breeder) will take their pup back

| I would never give this one back to the seller. Hes dogs were taken away by spcs. She was just left behind. It is a long story. anyway, I will try what you guys said. I will be more asertive. I will give this another two weeks. Do you think it would be different if they were of a different breed? By the way, I am so happy I joined this community. Otherwise, I wouldn't know what to do. Thanks |
